Perguntas frequentes
Why does granite have a small amount of color difference?
Whether granite has color difference depends on whether the material mined from the granite mine is homogeneous. The weather, heat, and humidity can cause slight changes in the color of granite.
Does natural stone have radiation? Is it safe?
Compliant A-grade natural stone has extremely low radiation levels (<1mSv/year), far below everyday household appliances. We can provide a stone radiation test report upon request. Note: marble radiation is lower than granite radiation, making it completely safe for indoor use.
Why does the price of the same stone vary greatly?
Natural stone prices are influenced by origin, pattern grade, thickness, and processing precision. For example, Italian Carrara White marble costs more than China Fish Belly White marble. We recommend choosing commercial-grade marble for a high cost-performance ratio if you have a budget limit.
Should stone be sealed before installation?
Yes — we recommend six-sided sealing protection before installation. Using a penetrating stone sealer (e.g., fluorosilicone resin) helps prevent cement alkali stains and oil penetration, making future maintenance easier.
How to distinguish genuine marble from artificial stone?
Genuine marble has irregular natural veining, a cool touch, and slight imperfections. Artificial stone often has repetitive patterns and a warm feel. You can also perform an acid test—natural marble will fizz upon contact with acid.
What to do if stone joints are too visible?
Use color-matched marble glue for filling, followed by fine polishing. For dark stones, use epoxy color sand; for light stones, avoid iron tools to prevent rust spots.
Is color variation after stone installation normal?
Yes — slight color variation in natural stone is normal. We suggest dry-laying and sourcing from the same quarry batch to minimize differences. For large projects, we use materials from the same quarry to ensure color consistency.
How to clean red wine or soy sauce stains from stone countertops?
Blot immediately with paper towels. Apply a pH-neutral stone poultice and cover with plastic wrap for 24 hours. Do not use bleach.
How to repair scratches on stone surfaces?
Light scratches: polish with stone polishing powder and a wool pad. Deep scratches: perform localized stone crystallization treatment.
How to solve efflorescence (white powder) on stone floors?
Clean with a stone efflorescence remover, dry thoroughly, then apply a stone sealer. For a permanent fix, check for underlying moisture or waterproofing failure.
How to remove yellow rust stains from stone?
For iron rust, use a stone rust remover; for copper stains, use a copper stain remover. Stubborn stains may require multiple applications.
Can water spots (wet marks that won’t dry) be fixed?
Yes — try ventilation, drying, and a stone water stain poultice. Severe cases may require removing and checking waterproofing. Prevention is key.
Which is better for kitchen countertops: marble or granite?
Granite countertops are more wear-resistant and acid-resistant (high quartz content). Recommended options: G654 granite, Indian Red granite. For marble, choose high-density types like Crema Ultraman marble or Royal Batticino marble.
What type of stone is best for non-slip outdoor flooring?
Choose flamed granite or bush-hammered granite (e.g., Rust Stone, Mongolian Black). Avoid polished marble for outdoor wet areas.
Will stone in bathrooms develop mold?
With proper sealing, mold can be avoided. Use slate, sandstone, or non-slip granite for walls and floors, and maintain with anti-mold spray.
Does stone need regular waxing?
We do not recommend waxing — wax layers attract dust. Instead, perform stone crystallization treatment every 2–3 years, and clean daily with a pH-neutral stone cleaner.
Can cracked stone be repaired?
Fine cracks can be filled with color-matched marble glue. For through-cracks, reinforce with back-side support. Large cracks may require replacement.
Why does stone feel colder in winter?
Natural stone conducts heat quickly (about 3× faster than ceramic tiles). This is not a quality issue. For underfloor heating, choose high thermal conductivity marble.
How to clean antique-finish stone?
Use a soft-bristle brush with a neutral stone cleaner, avoid high-pressure washing, and apply penetrating stone sealer annually.
How to restore shine to dull stone?
For mild dullness, use stone crystallization polishing. For severe wear, refurbish the surface and apply a stone color-enhancing sealer.
